Jeremy Holien serves as the Visual and Media Arts Education Specialist for Minnesota’s Perpich Center for Arts Education, whose mission is to improve K–12 arts education for all Minnesota students and educators through innovative programs and partnerships centered in the arts. Additionally, Mr. Holien serves as the State Arts Education Content Specialist for the Minnesota Department of Education.

In his current position, Holien works in professional and curriculum development, standards implementation, best-practice assessment strategies, and in state arts teacher evaluation program development. He is responsible for statewide workshops, networks, innovative initiatives primarily focused in visual and media arts education, works with school district teacher and administrative teams, and post-secondary teacher preparation programs. Additionally, he presents regularly on the cognitive value of arts education, artistic literacies, 21st Century Fluencies, and public policy centered in the arts.

His significant contributions to state and national level arts education initiatives include:
