Video Games in the ELA Classroom: from Developers to Authors

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

This presentation will explain a unit in which Karin has incorporated using video games as literature in order to teach story elements in the ELA classroom. This presentation will explain how we connected with a real-world video game developer and author, played and analyzed video games, read short stories, and eventually created story-based games ourselves. The unit directly increased student engagement and contributed to students' understanding of the importance of understanding literature.
